In Vienna, VA, a local Fairway Independent Mortgage branch and the American Warrior Initiative (AWI), partnered to honor a U.S. veteran with a grant. A residential housing “Boot Camp” was held in collaboration with this event to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to handle the home purchase needs of active duty and military veterans with excellence.
The honoree at this event was Ryan Long. Long was injured during deployment, and spent three years recovering through surgeries and rehab. AWI and Fairway were able to present Long and his family with a $10,000 grant to help with medical bills and other expenses. Long could not have been more thankful. He commented:
“I want to thank all you guys for your support and all that you do, and [for] getting educated about veterans that are coming home. Thank you.”
Area Manager Justin Exner was honored to be part of this event and so proud of how well it went! He said:
“The ninth event in the area – was arguably the best. Grateful to have Sean, Louise and Karen share why we are forever indebted to our veterans. We have our freedom due to their sacrifices and we must always work for them with a servant’s heart.”
Founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, which seeks to ease the transition for U.S. veterans between military and civilian life.
I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, give me a call.
